Crowbar

This novel was written under the pen name Lance Frost.
I am Muhammad Zubair Qureshi , and this book comes from a different phase of my life and writing.
At the time, CROWBAR was an experiment – in voice, in genre, and, frankly, in audience. I wanted to see whether a classic noir, crime-driven vigilante story, rooted in the political unease and instability of Karachi, would resonate with local readers. It was a calculated attempt to meet the market where I thought it was.
It did not work the way I expected.
But experiments are not failures simply because they do not succeed commercially. This book reflects a younger, more cautious, and more uncertain version of myself – one still testing boundaries, still learning how much of his own voice he was willing to reveal.
That does not make the work dishonest.
A great deal of effort went into these pages, and despite its flaws and limitations, I believe the message within the story remains worth sharing. For that reason, I have chosen not to discard it, but to let it stand as what it is: a record of growth, intent, and a moment in time.
This book does not define my work today, nor was it meant to. It exists on its own, complete and unchanged, as part of the path that led me forward.
Thank you for reading.
