Meet Muhammad Ali Hisbani A Student Leader with Purpose

Muhammad Ali Hisbani’s journey as a socio-political activist began in 2016, during his early school years. From childhood, he carried a deep love for his land, language, and culture. This love was not just an emotion but a guiding force that shaped the way he saw the world. While most school students were busy with studies and friends, Hisbani found himself drawn towards understanding the struggles of his people and the importance of standing up for their rights.

His first real step into activism came when he joined Positive Pakistan, an Islamabad-based organization. Here, he was appointed as the only Captain from Sindh. It was a big responsibility, especially for someone so young. But instead of being afraid, Hisbani embraced it with energy and determination. He organized seminars, workshops, and awareness campaigns, all while learning how to manage people, communicate with confidence, and take leadership roles seriously. These experiences gave him the chance to polish his voice as a young leader who could inspire others.

The real turning point in his journey came in 2021 when he joined the Law Department at FUUAST Karachi. Law, for him, was not just a subject to study, but a path to fight injustice in society. His active involvement in campus life soon led him to leadership positions. Within a short time, he was elected as the President of the Law Society. In this role, Hisbani went beyond the usual responsibilities of a student leader. He brought new life to the campus by organizing major events, including Sindhi Cultural Day and several law-related seminars. These events became more than just gatherings; they were platforms where students could express themselves, celebrate their identity, and also talk about pressing issues.

It was also during this phase that Hisbani became more deeply involved in student politics. He noticed the challenges faced by Sindhi students in Karachi, and he decided to raise his voice for them. For him, activism was not about popularity, it was about truth. He stood firmly on issues that mattered, even when it meant standing alone.

At one point, he also joined the Sindh Sujagi Forum, led by Sarang Joyo. This was the only nationalist political party he ever became a part of. However, after the party dissolved, Hisbani chose not to align himself with any other political group. Instead, he decided to remain independent, supporting individuals and organizations who genuinely worked for the rights of Sindh and its people. This decision reflected his belief in sincerity over labels. He was not interested in political games; he was interested in real change.

But the journey was never easy. Looking back, Hisbani admits that some of the hardest moments of his life came during university. “Often, there were more people standing against me than supporting me,” he says. “At times, the criticism was harsh, and it felt like my voice was too small compared to the opposition.” Yet, despite the pressure, he never backed down. “I never compromised on my stance. I always believed that if the cause is genuine, time itself will prove it right.”

His words reflect the strength of someone who has faced storms but still walked forward. For Hisbani, activism has never been about winning the crowd. It has been about standing with truth, protecting his culture, and giving a voice to the youth of Sindh. He continues to remind young people that while love for land, language, and people is important, education and leadership skills are equally necessary. With a strong and educated youth, he believes, the future of Sindh will always shine bright.
