Amjad Mirani is a 22-year-old rising musician who has become a voice of truth, resilience, and creativity in Sindh’s music scene. His journey has not been simple it is a story of rejection, struggle, and eventually finding strength through music.
Amjad was born in Abri, Qambar Shahdadkot District, a small city where life was simple but dreams often felt far away. In 2018, his family shifted to Larkana, and this move became a turning point in his life. The change of city opened up new opportunities, but it also brought challenges that tested his determination. At the end of that year, Amjad decided to chase one of his earliest dreams singing. He auditioned for the television show Sindh Superstar. With a heart full of hope, he performed an Urdu song. The judges, however, rejected him, not because of his voice, but because they wanted him to sing in Sindhi. At that time, Amjad did not know how to sing in Sindhi, and this lack of language experience became his first obstacle. That rejection hurt, but it planted the seeds of growth inside him.
Instead of letting failure break him, Amjad took a different path. He began creating content to entertain people in a new way. He launched a meme and roasting channel called “Amjad Trolls”. Through this channel, he roasted popular figures, created funny content, and slowly built a small but loyal fan base. This experience gave him confidence in front of the camera and sharpened his creativity. While it was not music yet, it became a stepping stone that helped him understand audiences and connect with them.
By 2021, Amjad found his way back to music. With the support of his friend Jibran, he released his first song. It was the beginning of something bigger. Soon after, he wrote and recorded “Kathaa”, a song made simply with a guitar and a phone. There was nothing fancy about its production, but the raw honesty in his voice touched people deeply. This song became the turning point of his career, showing his true potential as both a songwriter and a singer.
From then on, Amjad started blending Sindhi and Urdu in his songs, embracing his cultural identity. He worked with talented artists like Babar Mangi and Hassnain Samo, and collaborated with producers such as Kaashi Haider. Slowly, his songs began to spread across Larkana, Karachi, and beyond, making him a known face in the rising Sindhi music movement.
Some of his most recognized songs include:
- Zayqat-ul-Mawt
- Geru Wes
- Soormi
- Kachahri
- Umaas Ratiyun
- Tun Golheenden
- Cha Huya Denhara
- Osearo
- Musafir Khano
Each of these tracks carried emotions, stories, and social messages that connected with people. For Amjad, music was never just about fame or entertainment. It was about expression and truth. His songs spoke about religious intolerance, honor killings, and social injustice—issues many hesitate to raise. Through his art, he gave voice to those who are unheard.
Despite belonging to a minority community and facing doubts from people around him, Amjad stayed firm in his purpose. Even his family, who once questioned his choice of career, eventually saw his dedication and began supporting him.
When asked about his advice for young dreamers, Amjad says: “There is money in music, but not in the beginning. Start with passion, not money. Art should be for truth, not just fame.” His dream is to build a space where young artists can create freely without fear, where talent is nurtured, and truth is celebrated.
From being rejected in Sindh Superstar (2018) to achieving recognition with “Kathaa” and going viral with songs like Zayqat-ul-Mawt, Soormi, Geru Wes, and Osearo, Amjad Mirani has proven that setbacks can be turned into stepping stones. At just 22 years old, Amjad has shown that resilience, honesty, and passion can turn struggles into strength. His journey inspires not only musicians but also anyone chasing a dream against the odds.
As Amjad himself says: “Follow your passion, tell your truth, and let art be the light for others.”
