Abdul Hameed was born in 1974 in Badah, the second biggest city of Larkana district, Sindh. From his early years, he was deeply interested in society, people’s struggles, and the political changes happening in Sindh. His passion for truth and reporting led him to step into journalism at a very young age. In 1990, he officially started his career as a journalist.
Since then, Abdul Hameed has built a career of more than three decades in media. He has worked for many famous Sindhi newspapers such as Daily Kawish and others. He also reported for several Sindhi TV channels including KTN News, Awaz TV, Capital TV, Jaag TV, GNN TV, and ABN TV. His dedication and honesty made him one of the most respected voices in Sindhi/Urdu journalism.
He became known as a political covering important events, elections, and local developments. He also reported from Bilawal House and covered many major political stories across Pakistan. His work has been recognized not only locally but also internationally, and he even received a certificate in journalism from the Middle East.
Throughout his journey, Abdul Hameed has conducted interviews with many top leaders of Pakistan such as Imran Khan, Mian Nawaz Sharif, Asif Ali Zardari, Begum Nusrat Bhutto, Mir Murtaza Bhutto, Benazir Bhutto, and many more. His reporting style was always focused on facts, clarity, and courage.
Apart from being a reporter, Abdul Hameed is also a social worker and community leader. He is the Founder of Badah Development Society, an organization working for the progress of his hometown. Today, he serves as its President, showing his commitment to the betterment of society.
In addition, he is currently the Vice President of SPRA (Sindh Press Reporters Association) and also a Senior Journalist at GNN News. Over the years, he has covered election reporting, parliamentary reporting, and safety reporting, becoming a role model for young journalists in Sindh.
Abdul Hameed’s life reflects a deep connection with journalism, society, and politics. From interviewing national leaders to highlighting the issues of common people, his work has left a mark in the history of Sindhi/urdu journalism. His journey from a young reporter in 1990 to one of the senior-most journalists of today is truly inspiring.
